ON June 28 members of Evesham & District Pensioners' Association and the Extend Exercise classes joined together to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday at their Summer Social.

The hall and tables were decorated in red, white and blue bunting and balloons and members looked resplendent in their red, white and blue outfits and hats.

The entertainer, singer David Laine, was in good voice and gave a lively, lighthearted performance of many of our favourite songs and some old favourites. People were up dancing or clapping and singing along, creating a happy party atmosphere.

Afternoon tea of sandwiches, sausage rolls and cakes was served. There was an opportunity to guess the name of a knitted clown, estimate how many knitted poppies were in a box and the usual raffle followed. The afternoon concluded with everyone standing to sing the National Anthem.

Many people expressed how much they'd enjoyed the afternoon and a huge thank you to those of the committee who worked so hard to make the event a success. Thank you also to all those who helped on the day.

Our next meeting is on Tuesday 29 July at 1.30pm at the Town Hall.
