DESPITE it being a typically British chilly July evening it did not prevent us enjoying a garden party at Southern Court in Cropthorne. Thankfully the rain held off, so armed with unseasonable coats and knitwear we all enjoyed a stroll around the beautiful gardens, stopping only to stand back and admire the views over the river and countryside.

As the evening went on we moved inside where we enjoyed a splendid buffet and refreshments, followed by a sing along with Betsy Harmony of well-known songs. We all truly enjoyed the whole evening and have to thank our host Val for her kind hospitality.

Many members also enjoyed a trip to Worcester Race Course for The Pershore Plum Festival Race Night, as you would expect there were some winners and losers on the night – but all enjoyed another great evening out.

The busy summer continues as we now look forwards to our summer outing at the end of August to Hampton Court.

Next meeting Tuesday 13 September at Cropthorne Village Hall at 7.30pm, when we will be joined by Rosemary Prosser who will be speaking to us about Hot Wheels, Cold Meals. The competition is to provide your favourite sweet or savoury dish with tasting for all!

If you are interested in joining or just want to come along please do, for further information contact 01386 247439.
