THE speaker for the August meeting had to cancel at the last minute, fortunately the time was taken up with two quizzes and a good natter which made a very pleasant change and enabled people to catch up. Names and Deposits were taken for the Christmas lunch at The Vale Golf Club. Polly our carer had been in touch with some members who had not been well. The meeting ended with the usual raffle of 10 excellent prizes. The next meeting will be at Peopleton Village Hall on 28 September and the speaker will be Michael Bird “The Life and Music of Fats Waller”.
