MUSYCK Anon sang in two concerts in October. The first took place on Thursday 6 October as part of a series of concerts held at St. Nicholas' church, Alcester to raise money for the restoration of the church. We sang a selection of songs from the 16th to the 21st centuries, mostly with words by Shakespeare, including 'It was a lover and his lass' by Thomas Morley and 'O mistress mine' by Vaughan Williams.
Then on Sunday 16 October we performed the same songs at St. Andrew's Centre, Pershore. This time it was a joint concert with Celia Jones, Pamela Marsh, Paul Morris and Rowan Williams. Celia, Pamela and Paul performed dramatic readings from Shakespeare, including extracts from 'Romeo and Juliet' and 'The merchant of Venice'. Rowan played music contemporary to Shakespeare on the flute such as 'Greensleeves' and Dowland's 'Flow my tears'. This concert was in aid of St. Richard's Hospice and raised £600 from ticket sales and donations. Thank you to everyone who attended and gave so generously.
