AGM's often have a reputation of ‘dragging on’ but not Mickleton Gardening Club’s AGM. It was efficient and speedy whilst still covering the relevant business. Committee members who were standing down were sincerely thanked and two new committee members were elected. Jonathan Collins, chairman, gave a summary of the year’s activities and treasurer, June Haycock, gave a summary of the accounts. A printed copy of these was available on each table. The AGM was held at the Three Ways House Hotel and with business concluded the members were encouraged to ‘eat, drink and be merry’. There followed a tasty supper and drinks, enjoyed with good company and lively conversation.

Susan Ward was presented with the Mickleton Gardening Club’s silver salver as the person with the most wins in the monthly competitions.

The program for the club in 2017 promises to be interesting and varied. It includes outings, open gardens evening, spring and summer shows, speakers and demonstrations. The club has a friendly and informal atmosphere with new members warmly welcomed.

There will not be a January meeting in 2017. The first meeting is on February 15, 2017 at the King George’s Hall, 7pm for coffee, 7.30pm the meeting begins. We look forward to welcoming new and old members in the New Year.
