LAST Monday saw the first General Management Committee meeting of the year. The Chairman, Mr Simon Dudfield, welcomed those present and asked those present to remember their recently departed member, Mr Dennis McCormack. Unfortunately with the Treasurer was unable to attend the meeting due to work commitments, it fell upon the Secretary to deliver the Treasurer’s report. Most of the expenditure from the last period related to 2016 Remembrance. The Secretary then proceeded to give his report and also the Membership Secretary’s report. It was good to report that the Branch had recruited four new members in December with another two possible members being identified. He did express some concern over the “new” membership process which still had some teething problems, which had yet to be sorted. The acting Public Relations Officer reported on a successful period, with the Branch’s activities being well reported in the media. The next few months see the launch of the Branch’s Breakfast Club and also the Annual Dinner & Cadet Presentation Evening, the guest of honour being Colonel Richard Hopkins RM, Commandant of Hereford & Worcester Army Cadet Force. The major fundraising event of the next few months is a 1940’s evening with the entertainment being provided by the D Day Dolls. The Branch’s 3 Year Plan was reviewed and amended and fundraising for Branch activity was discussed. The Branch is due to attend the County Annual General Conference on Saturday at County Hall, Worcester. New members for the Branch are always welcomed and you do not have to have been a member of the Armed Forces to join. For further information please contact the Branch Secretary on 01386 553914.
