ON Thursday, January 5, members enjoyed listening to a talk by Roger Umpleby on "Plants and Flowers of New Zealand". He gave us a plant-lover's view and shared lots of interesting facts - such as 80 per cent of New Zealand plants are evergreen and there are over 200 species of ferns including the silver fern which is widely represented as the symbol of New Zealand. The pictures of the plant-life and countryside he presented were stunning and certainly banished the January blues!

On Thursday February 2, it is the Garden Club’s Annual General Meeting and we hope to elect some new members to the Committee. The business of the AGM will be followed by a Gardner's Question Time, an opportunity to find out the answers to all those niggling garden concerns.

Bretforton Garden Club provides a great opportunity for people to learn about a variety of gardening topics in a friendly environment and enjoy interesting days out. We normally meet the first Thursday evening of the month at Bretforton Memorial Hall and would be delighted to see any new members who wish to join. Please go to our website www.bretforton-gardenclub.co.uk for more information.
