SECRETARY Barbara Jenman opened the meeting by welcoming everyone and again appealing for a Chairperson.Talking about the open gardens on June 4 she asked for tombola prizes and also for volunteers for various jobs on the day.

Alison spoke of the trip to Barnsdale on July 8, she would like names and monies in by the May meeting please. It promises to be a great day out.

Julian Tolkien was the speaker this month, he gave an informative and amusing talk on his passion for pelargoniums.He began by growing fuchsias before turning his interest to pelargoniums thirty years ago. Julian introduced us to unusual plants some with scented leaves of spices, lemon and many others, he showed us how to prune divide and propagate and a short insight into showing to.

His passion for pelargoniums was infectious and many members left with plants of their own.

Bretforton Garden Club provides gardening knowledge in a friendly way through speakers and interesting garden visits. We meet the first Thursday of every month at Bretforton Memorial Hall 7.30pm and it only costs £5 year.Lifts can be arranged from from a number of villages, come and join us you will be warmly welcomed.
