THE president, Carol, welcomed everyone to the birthday celebration, particularly the guests.
Annie read the minutes of the last meeting and Mandy dealt with correspondence as the secretary is in Australia.
All had a welcoming drink and the Guilded Lilies were introduced: June Herbert’s Little Bunch, part of Pershore Ladies Guild.
Ten ladies, along with the pianist, appeared on stage looking very glamorous in their black outfits adorned with lilies!
They entertained us with a very polished performance.
It included songs, with the occasional friendly jibe at the WI, lots of humour and a varied programme.
Congratulations to all for a very enjoyable evening. The evening concluded with tea, coffee and lots of cake!
The next meeting on June 12 will feature Gordon Forrest from Worcestershire Wildlife Trust. Competition: A Mini Garden. All are welcome. SYLVIA CROSS
