The talk at the July meeting was given by Tony Clear on the topic of Getting to Grips with Pests and Diseases.
Mr Clear has been looking after the four-acre garden at Brook House, Alkerton, for many years, so was able to give plenty of good advice and tips. The result of the competition (a vase of mixed summer flowers) was 1st Zenna Homer, 2nd June Hancox, 3rd Judy Smith,and 4th Josie Sawtell.
Later in the month many of the members enjoyed a trip to the RHS Garden at Wisley. It was a glorious hot summer’s day and the gardens were spectacular.
The meeting tonight at the Crawford Hall will be the annual show.
