IT WAS sunshine and blue skies for Evesham Ramblers on their 6 mile walk from Ashton under Hill on Sunday 22nd May 2016. Fourteen walkers took a leisurely stroll through fields yellow with buttercups before slowly meandering over Dumbleton Hill stopping at intervals to savour the views of nearby Broadway, Bredon and the far reaching Malvern Hills. The morning coffee break was planned for Dumbleton cricket pitch where from the boundary we watched the youngsters practicing their match skills. The return route involved some lanes where the verges full of cow parsley flowers were a mass of snowy white, its delicateness was a charming reminder of its lesser known name Queen Anne’s lace.
If you would like to savour the pleasures of the countryside with Evesham Ramblers please take a look at our programme www.ramblers.org.uk/evesham. New walkers are always welcome and can try three walks before joining.
