ECKINGTON WI met on Wednesday, July 6 with our speaker for this meeting Chris Edwards 'Garden Birds; I didn't know they did that!'. In anticipation of an entertaining talk, we welcomed several visitors including fellow WI members from Pershore, Great Comberton and Naunton Beauchamp. We were not disappointed as Chris skillfully led through us the various behaviours of our garden birds, from promiscuous ladies to devoted family groups. Along with some audience participation, the courtship display of one particular bird was re-enacted (if you want to know which bird and how, book him! Don't want to give away too many spoilers!).
Members were reminded of the upcoming events for July & August including gatekeeping at Eckstock, coffee morning at Pershore, Skittles, Lunch Club and our Garden Party in August.
