OUR Annual General Meeting which took place at the Town Hall on November 22 was well attended.
The Chair reported on the past year's activities; the Treasurer gave her report and was thanked for the excellent work she has done over the years.
Further reports were given by other committee members and then the election of the new committee for 2016/2017 took place.
Following the formal part of the meeting, the speaker for the afternoon was Hayley Sanders, a private client lawyer specialising in Wills, Probate and Power of Attorney. She gave a very interesting and informative talk to our members about making a will and the process that has to be followed if no will is made. She told us about the two types of Power of Attorney (financial and health/wellbeing) and pointed out some of the benefits and pitfalls to be aware of. Afterwards she answered members' questions. She was thanked by the Chair, Jennifer Johnson, for the interesting and very helpful talk.
The afternoon closed with the usual raffle. Members are meeting for a Christmas lunch early in December.
The committee and all the members are thanked for their continued support.
