ON Tuesday February 14, John Glyn the Head Gardener of the Shakespeare Family Homes gave us a talk on the current work there and the plans for the future. He concentrated on the development of New Place. It was an extremely interesting talk illustrated by some excellent slides. He left us all keen to visit the sites now and then in the future when the development work will have been in progress for some time.

After the talk we held our AGM which was well supported and quite lively.

As it was February 14, we held a Valentine’s Day Buttonhole Competition which attracted over 25 entries and to top it all, at refreshment time, members had made lots of Valentine themed biscuits which soon disappeared!

Our next meeting is on Tuesday March 14 at 7.30pm in the Village Hall when Harriet Rycroft, formerly Head Gardener at Whichford Pottery will be talking about ‘Summer Exuberance in Pots and Containers.’

Members our now all preparing for the Annual Spring Show which will take place in the Village Hall on Saturday April 8.
