THE Harvington Churches Pilates sessions have proved so popular that there is now a waiting list. The exercise class starts at 9.30am on Thursdays in Harvington Baptist Church. Year 5 in Harvington First School have been exploring France recently, whilst staying in Harvington when they hosted a class from a French school. They met new friends, shared lunch together and had a question and answer session in both English and French. Year 5 also recently performed a French song at the Language Festival held in the Evesham Arts Centre.

The Dress Down Day held in Harvington First School raised £140 towards this year’s school charity, Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Reverend Richard Thorniley will be running the Stratford Half Marathon on Sunday, April 27 along with his son and daughter and the sponsorship money raised will also go to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Coming up: The Walking Group will be out for a longer nine mile walk on Monday, April 28. The walk will start from Kineton and will visit Compton Verney and Conbrook. A packed lunch will be needed for this walk. Contact Trevor on 871334.

On Tuesday, April 29 there will be a show of Spring and Summer Fashions from Dress Rehearsal in Alcester in St James’ Church starting at 8pm. Tickets cost £8 and are available from Sue Coley 870204 and Rozanne Beard 871214. Profits from the evening will go towards the Church Fabric Fund which is used to keep St James’ Church in good repair, this is an expensive and ongoing task as the building is Grade 1 listed and is about 800 years old.

BeST (the bereavement support group) will meet on Wednesday, April 30 in St James’ Church starting at 7.30pm. This gentle and supportive group meet each month, with trained facilitators, for mutual support and chats. Anyone who has been bereaved and who feels the need of understanding companions on the journey through grief, are welcome. Contact Reverend Richard Thorniley 870527.
