 • An intrepid team completed a Mud Run recently, raising more than £900 for the first school.

• Last month’s meeting of the gardening club featured a visit to Glenis Dyer’s garden at Welford-on-Avon. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, July 25, in the village hall at 8pm, when Julia and Joanne Green from J J Plants will be talking about penstemons.

• Today, the walking group will be going on an eight-mile walk with a difference. They will start from Bewdley where they will take the train to Arley, and then walk back through the countryside. There will be the chance to have a picnic lunch on the walk. Contact Trevor Knowles on 871334.

• The second XI cricket team will play at home on Saturday, and the Sunday XI will play on Sunday. Spectators welcome.

• Advance notice: There will be a Summer Holiday Club on Tuesday to Thursday, July 24- 26, from 10am to 2.30pm each day in the village hall. The theme is ‘Giving Your Best’ and there will be plenty of opportunities to do that in creative and team activities.

The programme will include arts and crafts, athletics, games and a chance for all ages to develop cricket skills. The cost is £7.50 per child per day or £20 for all three days. For details call Rev Richard Thorniley on 870527.
