WE started our final week as Mayor and Mayoress at Tewkesbury Abbey for the Tewkesbury Borough Mayor-Making (all Mayors change in May).

We started our week with an invitation from the Mayor of Worcester to attend One Thousand Years of Medicine in Worcestershire, a fascinating talk and exhibition detailing the important role this county has played in the development of medicine over the centuries.

At our annual meeting on Wednesday, May 1, we thought we had gone back into the Middle Ages! The hall in Broadwell had suffered an electrical blackout (along with other parts of the village).

PAT Cook, chairman, welcomed members, including three newcomers, to the April meeting.

OUR April speaker was Kathryn Smeaton who showed us the art of rubber stamping as a means of decorating cards and boxes.

We started our week with an invitation from BBC Hereford & Worcester to launch the new flag for Worcestershire in Evesham on Monday morning.

THE monthly meeting was held on April 10, when owing to the chairman not being well, Ray Poulton took the meeting. He welcomed all and reminded them of forthcoming trips planned for the summer.

ANOTHER hectic week began at The Almonry Heritage Centre, where we greeted delegates from the Heritage Lottery Fund who were there to take a look at this fabulous building and give us some guidance on our Lottery Fund application.

AT our last meeting on the morning of Wednesday, April 3, we had to have a change of speaker as unfortunately Sally Wilkinson had to cancel her talk on Swan Rescue through ill health.

EVESHAM Town Council held its annual meeting of parishioners on Monday evening. This public meeting is a chance for Evesham residents to question councillors and officers about the work of the council.
