PERSHORE WI

PERSHORE WI met on Thursday, April 12, at Wulstan Hall, Priest Lane.

The speaker this evening gave us an fascinating talk entitled Fires of Pershore. Marian Freeman told a story which took us back in time, giving us a flavour of what life was like in Pershore during the time of Abbot Gervais during the 13th century when a fire engulfed the Abbey and most of the town and the following rebuilding of the Abbey.

During this month’s meeting the flower arrangement of spring flowers competition for the Jean Drew Plate took place, and more details were discussed with reference to our WI participating in the plum fayre.

The next meeting will be at 7.30pm on May 10.

New members will be made very welcome.
