The March meeting of the Gardening Club was the Spring Show, This was very well attended and attracted 81 entries over 13 categories, The quality of entries was exceptional, helped by a mild winter and warm spring which had helped the spring bulbs maximise their beauty. During the judging which was carried out by the Club President, Tiny Hadley, a fun quiz took place with much discussion and hilarity and sharing of information. The overall winner of this year's show was Barbara Bennett, who was presented with the Silver Plate. Five more new members joined the Club at this meeting, and the overall membership is at its highest for some years. We welcome all those interested in gardening to come along and enjoy our varied programme. The April meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 23, at 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall, When Roger Umpelby is giving a talk "To spray or not to spray" which should meet with some interesting interaction.
