WE welcomed more new members at our February Meeting and we all sat riveted to listen to a most enjoyable talk by Neal Cook, Head Gardener at Hanbury Hall, Droitwich, which is managed by the National Trust. Neal gave our members a brief history of the hall, and then proceeded to entertain us with us the history of the gardens,as the existing original drawings of the gardens, dating back several centuries are still in existence. The gardens are now well on their way to being as beautiful as in the glory years of the Victorian era when gardens became an important aspect to display the wealth of the rich. Our next meeting is the Spring Show on Wednesday, March 25, at 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall. Judging will commence at 8pm, so we hope our members are busy nurturing their spring flowers and practising their cooking skills ready to take part. Show schedules were given out at the last meeting but copies can be obtained from our Club Secretary, Dorothy Turpitt, 01386 830834. A light hearted quiz will take place during the judging, and we look forward to welcoming all our members and guests for an enjoyable evening.
