MAY I , through your column, give the most sincerest thanks to everybody who supported the RNA Poppy fundraising activities recently.

These included our quiz night which raised £207 and the Garland of Remembrance which raised £537.

Not to mention the generous donations put into the collection tins when our foot-soldiers (or sailors!) were out doing their bit.

I am an extremely lucky chairman because both branch and club, our members are second to none for rallying round for a worthy cause.

We would like to pay particular thanks to Kath Knight and the staff at Asda for allowing us to use their building and Chapman Court to create a poppy garland. In addition, they let us have Saturday stalls to collect donations and sell poppy merchandise which brought in a further estimated £300.

But most of all, a big thank you to each and every person who donated and supported the Poppy Appeal in the Pershore area. Let’s hope that we’ve helped the Royal British Legion to smash last year’s total.
