THE letter in your issue of December 5 from Alan Boyes rightly expresses concern at the ‘goings on’ at the car park at the Jubilee Bridge, Fladbury.

I believe the real reason for the ‘redesign and refurbishment’ of the car park is that Worcestershire County Council (WCC) wish to rid themselves of it (ie they want to sell it).

A clear statement from WCC would shed some light on the subject. They should also indicate what consultations they carried out with interested parties such as Cropthorne Parish Council, Fladbury Parish Council, Birmingham Anglers’ Association and other regular users of the car park.

In this age of ‘transparency and open government’ this is the least we should expect, is it not?
