Does Councillor Mark Goodge feel justified by rising the price of parking tickets to 50p for half an hour? What can people do in half an hour?

For instance if you have an appointment with your GP you'll be very lucky if you get seen on time, then perhaps you will need a prescription - extra time again. You walk back to your car, leave it if you've still got time left on ticket, walk into High Street, maybe indulge in a cup of tea or coffee or sit and watch the world go by, as the saying goes.

What about people wanting to shop after working. If you are serious Councillor try doing the same. I occasionally have an appointment to have a blood test, I have a bit of time to spare on my 50p half hour ticket, should have paid for another half hour at 50p, went to the camera shop but there was a customer there, so I waited, was delayed, shopkeeper apologised. I could not wait as my time was nearly up so had to walk back to car park.

Shops closing down through lack of customers? I can understand why.

I have an appointment today, at Podiatry Centre, I am going to use the local bus as it runs every hour and as I am a senior citizen I don't have to pay, so I shall have time to browse. Trouble is I have (like most other people) arthritis in my leg and it's bad to walk - hence using the car!

I cannot win.
