I AM happy to report two welcome changes in Evesham this weekend which will make a real difference and improve our wonderful town.
Firstly, after many months of pressure from the Vale of Evesham Civic Society, Wychavon have tidied up and made public the old Registrar Office garden on the corner of Chapel Street with Conduit Hill.
Now we can enjoy this small corner of Evesham and an eyesore has been changed into an asset. Thanks, Wychavon.
Secondly, the Red Lion has opened in the Market Place. It is superbly located on the corner of the square and it feels it has always been there.
It is a brave venture, and I applaud all those involved in getting it established.
On Monday I had a wonderful pint there bought by a friend and really enjoyed the company of town councillors, fresh from a meeting at the Town Hall. It seemed life could not get any better.
Life could get even better though, if some money could be found to repair and clean up the Market Place paving and open up the ground floor of the Town Hall. Any ideas?
