I READ with interest the story on the crop circle that appeared in Harewell Lane in Besford, near Pershore (Journal, June 26).

I was well aware of the crop circle that appeared last year in the same fields and went to visit it at that time and found it to be very interesting.

My concern is that the vandals who are making these crop circles should be caught and brought to justice.

I would am surprised that in a very quiet and rural part of our area in the middle of the night the farmer concerned was not awakened by what would have been involved a host of vehicles with headlights travelling past the farm and working in the field for what must have been a considerable amount of time.

This happened last year, and my friend, who also lives in the area, detected no noise or disturbance during the night whatsoever.

I would suggest that the farmer in question invest in surveillance cameras around his fields so that these vandals can be caught red-handed.

I understand the cost of losing about £1,000 because of crop damage, but if the crop circle vandals could be caught on film that would solve the crop circle enigma nationwide.

If Besford could be the first to catch the vandals, I am sure the farmer would gain back more than his lost £1,000 by creating a documentary about it and revealing the truth behind the creation of these crop circles.
