I attended the Harvington planned meeting that was held in our village hall last week. This meeting was very well attended. My opinion regarding the building of some 278 houses in the village is one of very considerable doubt.

The utilities now in existence is already very over crowded, resulting in regular flooding and frequent power cuts, so with the addition of 278 properties would make the situation a lot worse.

Another point of issue is the education facilities in the village. Our very well run school is already at full capacity so with more children being houses would need additional school buildings at some considerable cost which our village cannot afford with present day finances.

One further point to consider is roads and traffic problems. If additional cars, vans etc come into the village this would result in an accident waiting to happen. I can foresee very many problems ahead if this scheme goes ahead.

There are quite a number of elderly and disabled people in the village. Their well being must also be considered of course.

At present we have an extremely well run post office and on the other side of the village and over a very busy crossroads there is a convenience store.

This crossroads is quite dangerous with the speed restrictions not being adhered to, very many vehicles speed along quite frequently.

I would therefore be most grateful if you would read this letter and act accordingly.
