RECENTLY in the Journal there was an article called Why does Pershore keep celebrating the wrong plum?
This detailed various plums grown locally and where they were first discovered and by who. In this article it described Mr Panter, of Drakes Broughton, as being the proud owner of the apricot seedling plum.
Mr Panter was my great-grandfather; he was my mother's grandad, and I am currently trying to do my family tree.
I ask whether anyone has any more information about the Panter family, and possibly any photos. If you have any information I would be grateful if you could contact me on 01905 452901.
