I AM a past resident from Evesham, and have just visited my mother in Bengeworth, where we discussed several items of Evesham interest, but one still sticks in my memory.
As a one-time member of Evesham Rowing Club I have memories of a fabulous trophy awarded to the winner of the fours at the annual regatta.
This trophy was a silver replica of town's Abbey Bell Tower.
It was stolen at a public house where the winning team were celebrating their victory on their way home to London.
Was this case ever solved? And was the trophy ever recovered?
Could anyone please supply any answers to this mystery?
