I WAS greatly relieved to read Andrew Dyke's assertion (Letters, November 20) that "councils are about . . serving the community . . they are not the same as selling tins of baked beans or chocolate biscuits".
Quite right, Mr Dyke.
If councils had a monopoly on selling baked beans and chocolate biscuits no one would be able to afford them.
