Sir - May we thank you all at your newspaper for all the kind support and lovely articles that you have published following the death of our dear Dad, Ted Annis.

It has brought us great comfort to see his achievements published so respectfully and we were so glad to see your photographs of the Guard of Honour outside the Abbey at his funeral on Tuesday.

To walk into Pershore Abbey with over 450 family and friends packed in to pay their respects was such a proud moment, not to mention the length of the Guard of Honour - particularly the one in the High Street which saw the pavements crowded either side of the Naval Club.

Our Mum, Margaret, and ourselves have been inundated with over 300 condolence cards now; not to mention all the kind messages of support from all our friends and relatives.

Dad's final send-off couldn't have been more perfect and we thank everybody involved in creating that including Canon Richard Etheridge, Pershore Abbey, The Royal Naval Association, Royal British Legion, Worcester & Sherwood Foresters Association, Civic Dignitaries, Alice Bull of Pershore High School, all our family and friends and most importantly, Richard Hill and staff who never fail to deliver an outstanding service.

Mrs Wendy Strettle and Mrs Trudy Burge (Daughters of the late Ted Annis)
