DOES anybody care about the local traders in this town?

They work hard to make a living, but we have appears to be a family gathering huddled together selling hot food, drinks, cakes etc very close to an established cafe.

If any readers think that this is fair then you are not supporting the local traders.

Market manager Joseph Jones has previously said in this paper that we try to keep the similar stalls and businesses separate, and that we make sure they are as far apart as possible.

Do his statements mean anything?

If these market traders had to apply for a street trading licence under the eligibility criteria that was set out by Wychavon before Mr Jones took over then they would not have been allowed to trade near established businesses.

There must be someone in one of our three councils who should step in and sort this out, because once the Christmas sheds have gone we will be getting the return of what looks like a Bedouin encampment back to brighten up our town, and then what next?
