I AGREE that the three pubs in Evesham are an eyesore (Journal, January 22), but then so is the rest of the town.

There are advertising boards scattered all over the place, tables and chairs all over the place, plastic buckets and brooms where they should not be, fruit and veg scattered around, grass and weeds everywhere.

When you drive through the High Street on a Saturday all you see is a load of tatty canvas flapping in the wind.

It's called a market, but it's a disgrace.

This town has lost its way, it has lost its identity, it can no longer be referred to as an ancient market town, Wychavon has seen to that.

I am not writing this to make friends, I have lived here all my life and I don't want to see the town die. So come on, all you planners, and all you do-gooders. Come out from you ivory towers and see for yourselves and do something about it.
