ALL those people who voted for the Coffee#1 in Pershore should be ashamed of themselves as two of our independent tea/coffee shops on the High Street, namely Abbey Tea Rooms and Nicolas at 4 High Street, have finally closed as they have been put out of business.
Many people signed a petition against Coffee#1 coming but it was overruled and this is the result.
It is very sad as most of Pershore's shops are independent and that this how we like it and it is a struggle anyway to keep them open.
I just hope the shoppers in Pershore will support Nice and Spice and the lovely little tearoom at the back of Go-Down at 51 High Street as they will close.
Coffee#1 does not nothing to enhance the High Street with its extremely dark and dull colour. I have never been in there and never will, and I just hope visitors and inhabitants of Pershore will support the remaining two tearooms before they close, otherwise we will have more chains and Pershore will lose its uniqueness.
