How many more supermarkets do we need?
I CANNOT wait for Waitrose to open, so that I can then open a book on which existing supermarket may close soon after that happy event; as we seem to be swamped with foodstuff outlets of varying sizes in Evesham.
On the other hand, if we could raise the population of Evesham to say 35,000 by grubbing up all those dreary old orchards, we could then attract the pleasures of Sainsbury’s, Asda, Budgens, Netto, FineFare and possible even Fortnum & Mason, all currently denied to us, so then becoming the supermarket mecca of the greater Birmingham conurbation.
