STEPHEN Smith (Letters, March 26) says we did not try very hard to find the winner of the £51,000 prize in the Wychavon area.

Mr Smith may be interested to know that our publicity around the prize achieved more than 60 pieces of coverage, including local/regional newspapers and websites, and radio.

We do not advertise where and when the ticket was purchased to protect the anonymity of the ticket-holder – under our licence, we need to ensure that our players are able to retain their right to anonymity at all times.

Camelot does not make millions out of unclaimed tickets – any unclaimed prize money, plus the interest earned, goes to help good causes across the UK.

By that same token, we retain less than one per cent in profit on each ticket sold, while about 95 per cent of total revenue is returned to winners and society.
