I WAS walking with my granddaughter through Workman Gardens, Evesham, at about 11am on Friday, March 27, when we saw and heard a group of men sitting on one the benches drinking from cans.
My granddaughter was a little way in front of me riding her scooter.
I then heard loud shouting from this group in a foreign tongue.
Suddenly one of the group stood up and began to fight with a man with lots of very loud shouting.
I hurried away rapidly and went to the park.
My granddaughter was playing in the park, where she had met a schoolmate, who was with her grandfather.
We got chatting and he told me he was from London visiting his daughter who had moved to Evesham.
He said he had parked in Waterside and had seen this same group drinking and shouting earlier.
He praised the area, but expressed surprise that this sort of behaviour was tolerated in Workman Gardens.
Is this what we have to look forward to once again this year?
My granddaughter is five years old and her schoolmate is seven.
