I SEE in your paper that Worcestershire County Council is yet again wasting our money by top dressing roads – you might just as well put a sticking plaster on a broken leg for all the good it will do!

This work does nothing to repair roads or to prevent more expensive repairs; it does nothing for potholes, instead it causes unnecessary inconvenience to road users and stone chips to our vehicles.

It would be far better to do fewer roads each year and do them properly than to continually spend vast sums on a temporary patch-up just to be seen to be doing something.

I wonder if Jon Fraser has ever worked in this trade or actually spoken to an independent person who knows the job?
