I WONDER if anybody could produce the exact number of new houses built in the Evesham area in the past decade.

I would hazard a guess that it runs into the tens of thousands.

Leave town for any local village and you will realise that they will soon merge, that is if they haven't already done so.

Now I ask, why the proliferation in new housing estates?

I am certain that this area has taken far more than its fair share of new housing, while others are being more careful to preserve the precious and irreplaceable green fields.

Why, I ask, is our local council more accepting of incentives from the building industry, or are other councils more shrewd or less susceptible.

Whatever the reason surely now is the time to halt this process where the only beneficiaries are the house builders and the rest of us are the losers.

Time perhaps to ask questions of our council representatives; a really good time with the election looming and them needing your vote to stay in their exalted positions
