It’s deserved

AS a countryman, I support fox hunting. Foxes, if they get into a hen-house, kill for the sheer lust of killing – when foxhounds tear a fox to pieces, the fox gets what’s coming to him. Serves him right.

GEORGE COWLEY, Worcester.

Yes, but he's an animal. Are we not, as human beings, meant to be above such barbarity? I know I am...

What an absolute load of misinformed, bigoted, unintelligent rubbish.
If you had to catch all your own food, and came across such a "cache" wouldn't you do your best to make sure it was still there when you came back? the Fox doesn't know it's been penned in there for the convenience of humans!
The idea that a Fox is "evil" and "kills for the **** of it" is a purely human construct, as human beings are the only creatures that carry out such acts whilst being fully aware of the consequences!!

Whilst I'm at it, don't tell me that we can put men on the moon and yet are incapable of building a fox-proof henhouse. You bloodsport advocates don't have a leg to stand on when your argument is examined. If Foxes are such a pest why the hell do Hunt organisers breed them and set them free so they can watch their dogs torture them and rip them to pieces? You people belong in the dark ages.

One of the accusations always leveled against anti-hunt supporters is that we 'humanise' animals and see them as 'cuddly-wuddly'.

Quite apart from it not being the case, is Mr Cowley not 'humanising' foxes by giving them the attributes of '**** for killing' and demonising them in human terms.

The hunting fraternity really are enormous and hyprocrites and liars. As has been rightly pointed out above, if foxes are such an evil menace, why do some hunts ensure that breeding areas are left undisturbed and, in worse cases, actively rear them?

Why is '****' a censored word?
