Best chippie

ON Saturday, I had the opportunity to display my 1934 Austin at Evesham Balloon Festival. I was joined by several members of our car club – the Austin Ten Drivers Club – who also showed their cars.

Despite the balloon part of the festival being cancelled due to the poor weather, the day turned out nice and resulted in a good show.

During the course of the day, my friends took the time to walk about the town and the market. On my recommendation, they visited the Island Fish Bar in Merstow Green for lunch. On their return, they complimented me for my recommendation and said it was the best fish and chips they had tasted for some time and that the restaurant, the service and the staff were great.

So, all in all, it made me proud of my hometown, and I would therefore like to offer compliments to all concerned – the show organisers, the town’s traders and indeed the Island Fish Bar.
