My nightmare

HAVE you ever watched a sporting event and then at half-time some prat gets to describe what he’s seen and you think ‘Hold on a minute, have I been watching the same thing?’ I felt like that when I read Peter Loomes letter about the Olympic torch relay in Broadway.

For those who like a second opinion: It was a completely joyous occasion.

Well organised, well stewarded and a huge buzz from everyone. Maps showing the route had been circulated weeks beforehand and I have yet to hear any other adverse comments.

I am going to the Olympics.

I expect I shall have to queue, suffer delayed journeys, probably have to suffer over-priced food.

I shall take all this in my stride.

My worst nightmare finds me in a queue with a Peter Loomes type.
