A crying shame
8:00am Monday 30th July 2012 in Letters
HAVING been a previous resident of Evesham for 15 years before moving to Cardiff, for many years I have thoroughly enjoyed going to and working at the River Festival.
My best friend Ramsay Evans owns one of the boats that has taken part for many years, and his parents Cathy and Bruce Evans were the chairman and organisers of the 2011 and 2012 festivals.
I travelled all the way from Cardiff to be here for the event and it was a crying shame that it was cancelled. I know others had travelled from afar as well.
I wanted to write in just to give praise to Cathy, Bruce and everyone else on the River Festival committee that their hard work has not gone unnoticed.
It’s a huge shame they had to cancel it. Rest assured, they didn’t want to!
Thank you to you all for at least trying to keep the festival going on but sometimes we have to admit defeat.
Don’t be disheartened all, the show must go on next year and I will still be committed to coming again!
