A GENEROUS donation was made to a charity for bereaved children by a Freemasons group.
The Elmley Castle Lodge of Freemasons, which meets in Evesham, donated £1,500 to Winston's Wish – a Cheltenham-based charity which supports children coping with grief.
The money was raised at a Lady's Gala event held at the Chateau Impney in Droitwich.
Peter Ross, former master at Elmley Castle Lodge, said: "It is a charity close to our hearts. We lost a daughter 20 years ago and left behind two young children.
"Luckily, we were able to support them but a lot of bereaved children have no help or support.
"This charity is very helpful. We have seen what they have done and it is absolutely fantastic."
The cheque was presented to volunteers at Winston's Wish at its Cheltenham headquarters.
