The Royal British Legion and Age Concern have launched a brand new Health and Wellbeing Service for ex-armed forces members, and their dependants, living in and around Evesham.
The funding has been provided by the RBL to enable the ‘Poppy Luncheon Club’ to provide a lunch as well as an integrated Health and Wellbeing Service.
The service will allow those who qualify to enjoy a lunch prepared by volunteers, while also being offered the opportunity to meet new people through a programme of activities.
The wide range of activities will include various information and advice sessions, including diet and nutrition, exercise, social activities, personal security, horticulture sessions, podiatry services, basic IT training and more.
Martin McAleese, Worcestershire county manager for the RBL, said: “Recent research shows there is a need for more services which provide healthy living and lifestyle advice to ex-service personnel and their families.
“This new initiative will provide much needed support.
“We’re very pleased to be working with Age Concern and using our pooled resources and experience to reach more people.”
