A PLANE engine worth £15,000 has been stolen from a light aircraft in Defford.
The Rotax engine was taken between 10pm on Thursday, June 25 and 6am Friday, June 26.
A police spokesman said: “The owner believes that this was a very targeted theft carried out by someone who knew exactly what they were doing in terms of removing it from the plane - and with specific use in mind.
“We ask the small aircraft fraternity across the United Kingdom to be extremely watchful regarding their own property - and to be equally suspicious if they are offered a Rotax engine from an unusual source.”
Anyone with information about the stolen engine is urged to call police on 0300 333 3000, quoting 138S/260609 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
