A RESIDENT at Willow Bank House in Throckmorton has celebrated her 100th birthday in style with a garden party surrounded by family and friends.

Queenie Knight made the most of the good weather as she became a centenarian on Sunday with her close family by her side. Staff at Willow Bank House also threw her a party on Saturday which was visited by Pershore Mayor Ken Rowe and the newly-crowned Miss Worcester, who presented Mrs Knight with a bouquet of flowers.

Claire Davies from the residential house in Throckmorton said: “Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day. The Mayor and Miss Worcester stayed all day. Queenie was delighted to receive her card from the Queen and we made her a special 100th birthday cake.”
