IT was all change in Pershore as a husband and wife stepped down from their roles as presidents of two town groups.

Gordon Hartley-Bennett and his wife Sue, left their positions with Pershore Rotary Club and Inner Wheel Club of Pershore, respectively, last week.

In their time leading the group’s they raised around £6,000 for Worcestershire Young Carers, which was both the Rotary and Inner Wheel’s chosen charity for the year. Other charities including Acorns Children’s Hospice and Shelterbox also received funds.

The new president of Pershore Rotary is Cairns Boston MBE, who has held a variety of senior posts in tourism and education. He named Pershore Volunteer Centre as his charity for the year.

Sue Hartley-Bennett handed over the reins to Jane Campbell in the Inner Wheel service held in Wyre Piddle. For more information on the Rotary club visit pershore.rotaryweb.org
