A FLOCKMASTER from Broadway picked up a fistful of awards at the Three Counties Show. Chris Holmes fielded a team of Suffolk sheep at the show in Malvern and in addition to class winners won the breed championship and champion and reserve male champion with a yearling ram and a ram lamb.

Boost for cinema

DEVELOPERS of the Regal Cinema in Evesham were given a boost this week when their scheme was given planning permission to progress. The application to redevelop the cinema received no objections and the team is now “looking forward to taking the next step in bringing the Regal back to life.” Members of the team will be at the Evesham River Festival this weekend to recruit volunteers.

SUNDAY afternoon Bands in the Park concerts continue in Evesham’s Abbey Park until the second week in September. There is a change to the programme on Sunday when, instead of the traditional brass band, the sound of pipes and drums will echo across the park when the St Andrew’s Pipe Band performs between 2.30pm and 4.30pm

OVERBURY Street Market takes place in the unspoilt village at the foot of Bredon Hill on Saturday from 10am to noon. Along with many stalls, the Friends of the village school are arranging fun activities for children and members of the Embroiderers’ Guild of Elmbury will be exhibiting their work and selling silks and embroidery kits. There will also be live music and Whitcombe Gardens will be open. Car parking and entry are free.
