New nurses fill the gaps

9:15am Tuesday 28th August 2001

FILIPINO nurses have now arrived in Bromley and are living in hospitals in the borough.

Forty registered nurses arrived on August 18 to take up posts at hospitals in the Bromley borough. They were taken on because of a nursing shortage in the area and will undergo a three-month adaptation programme.

A spokesman for Bromley Hospitals NHS Trust said: “The nurses have settled in well and are in the middle of their induction. They are living on Farnborough and Orpington Hospital sites.”
