HUNDREDS of pounds were raised at two events in Pershore hosted by the Royal British Legion.
The Women’s Section branch held their annual coffee morning with a variety of home-made goodies as well as a bric-abrac stall and raffle. After serving many cups of coffee, the proceeds totalled £327.
The RBL also hosted a display of World War One and World War Two memorabilia in Chapman Court on November 2.
Roy Burford said the day was successful, aside from having to close the event early due to bad weather.
He said: “It was rewarding to see a considerable number of the younger generation taking an enquiring interest in the display. Despite the wind and rain, this part of the Poppy Appeal raised in excess of £325, grateful thanks for to all concerned.”
